Hey guys!

So I want to upgrade my graphics card soon and since the inflation of prices due to crypto-mining has been extinguished I thought I would check out some of them and here are the ones I found I would like.

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GDDR5-4GB-2xDVI-Graphics-GV-R929OC-4GD/dp/B00HS84DFU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400195640&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+R9+290

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GDDR5-2GB-WINDFORCE-Graphics-GV-N770OC-2GD/dp/B00D3ES1Q0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400195650&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GTX+770

The problem I'm having is that I can't choose.

I want to make this build with an Nvidia card since I've never owned one before and because it is slightly quieter and a bit cheaper, but the R9 290's price and performance is really tempting given that it used to be around 500$. I'm also planning on buying an aftermarket cooler for which ever I buy (probably something from Arctic), so noise and temps are not something I'm worrying about.

So price to performance wise, which one is more worth it?

Hey,

the R9 290 is faster in every aspect plus having 4GB of memory on it is always a plus. The GTX 770 is rival of the R9 280x but the R9 290 is in a different league. And if I was you I wouldn't worry about installing an aftermarket cooler - the Windforce does a descent job.
