Need Help Booting.(CD DRIVE PROBLEMS)!!!!

I have a fx6300 cpu, Saphire r9 270x gpu and a asus m5a97 motherboard.
trying to boot from cd drive but it wont even stay closed. please help!

Make sure nothing is obstructing the drive tray and that you CD/DVD is fully inserted. Does this happen with all CD/DVD disks?

I lterally just built the pc. i can access bios no problem i pick the disk drive as the boot option and i save changes and reset the pc and as sson as it turns on the disk drive opens itself and opens back up i i try to close it.

I suspect a defective drive then. If you restart the system with a bootable CD/DVD installed (and the optical drive as the default boot device in the BIOS), will the system try to boot and read the disk or does it immediately open?

Immediately opens! im so frustrated with this haha. Does this mean its defective i assume? is there any other way to boot it?

I assume you are trying to install Windows, correct? If so, what version? You can "burn" a Windows ISO to a USB drive and boot from it.

Are you trying to boot from a commercial or a burned DVD?

Also, does the drive open when you restart if no disk is inserted?

What make/model of case and optical drive are you using? Is anything pressing against the eject button or does the button appear to be stuck? If you press the eject button, does the tray open/close?

Samsung Electronics SATA 1.5 Gb-s Optical Drive, Black SH-224DB/BEBE.
It opens with out a disk inside nothing is pressing the button it doesnt appear to be stuck and it stays open not closed

Either a bad drive or the SATA cable is not firmly attached to the drive and/or the motherboard. Check the connections. If solid, RMA the Samsung.
