Im looking to whip my system into gaming shape. Here are my current specs---
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz
integrated graphics (lol)
4 gb ddr2 ram
300w power supply

The graphics card im sold on atm is the r9 270x, ive heard alot about it and it seems like it would work well for me. But i am wondering if the CPU needs an upgrade for modern gaming, and also wondering if i need to upgrade the mobo, so i can get ddr3 ram. I really dont want to make this investment but if I have to, so be it. Also, i need to buy a new power supply. Will the Seasonic 520w be sufficient? Thanks in advance for the help.

well.... yeah if you are thrifty you might be able to make something work. here is a dude selling a 640. id ask him 30 for it. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2143140/selling-ev...

that will be a decent enough GPU. Then get a fx6300 and mobo combo for around 160 and and 4g of ram for another 30$ or so. That will leave you with $90 ish.

You have a hard drive and a os you can use?

Yes, i do have a 500 gb hard drive and windows 7. With that extra $90 couldn't i just buy a used 270x for some extra performance?
