Hey guys so I am building my first custom PC (fingers crossed i don't burn my house down!). Anyway I was debating between the AMD R9 290X and the gtx 780 and the gtx 780ti. The 780ti is a little out of my budget but I can hold off to save a little more money before I purchase so it's not a pressing issue. Nonetheless I am going to start of gaming at 1080P but do anticipate to move up in resolution to 4K eventually (probably at the end of the year). I want the card I purchase to be able to handle games for the next 3-4 years before I decide to add a second card for either SLI or crossfire. I do understand that the R9 290X is excellent for 4K resolution, as is the 780ti but the 780ti is about $150 more. What do you guys think, should I go for the less expensive r9 290x or just save up and get the 780ti?
Also if I get the r9 290x i do understand it runs hot but if I get plenty of case fans and the noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler would that suffice? I am getting the i7-4770K cpu and have an 850W PSU.
Aslo, I would appreciate any recommendations regarding what particular card you guys recommend (non-reference models that come overclocked with better cooling).
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for any replies!

Solution
in 4k the r9-290x is about as good as a 780ti... and a bit better then either the titan or 780... in 1080p the 290x/780/780ti are all massive overkill.
