I hope you didn't buy your CPU yet, in a couple weeks Intel is releasing their 4790K, which is a Haswell with a superior cooling system that will allow them to be routinely overclocked to 5GHz.

Yes, get the Noctua NH-D15, the best air cooler in the world now.

well i was thinking of holding out for haswell-E 8 core cpu with the ddr4 and the z99 chip set. and after a lot of thought and some general research my thought moved backwards to the 4770k and z97 and ddr3 mostly cause it still really new and its a late generation vs the super newness of ddr4 ++ the money point vs performance is huge. for everything i have listed so far (minus ram/PSU) comes to be 1190.87 with tax's shipping and wheeling and dealing lol, i can only imagine the price on the i7-4790k and Haswell-E as being not released.

Yes, the Haswell-E 8 core will be at least $1,000. But the 4790K should only be $10 to $15 at most more.

Face it, the Haswell - E will have four channels of DDR4 memory, overkill for anything a mere mortal would need unless you do simulations.

And I suspect the Haswell E 8 core could actually be slower since it has the same power rating as the 6 core. That is, you will be able to overclock the six core faster than the 8 core.
