how do you know if your cpu is damaged or defective? im getting low fps in some games
i have a fx 8350? has anyone had a damaged cpu or a defective one?
what are the symptoms? temps are fine btw

It's very unlikely to have defective CPU. If it was not defective from start or you did not fry it during usage :).
Low FPS may have lot of causes, best would be if you post your whole setup and what games on what settings (resolution, detail ingame) you tried to play. It's higher chance that something else is bottleneck than that CPU is faulty. Ofc everything is possible just unlikely.

If you take your Cpu out and reseat it, it's possible that you aren't getting good contact with the cooler. If that thing heats up, it'll throttle back on the performance and that will definitely cut your FPS. Are you reapplying the thermal paste, and how are you cooling the Cpu?
