This post sure got out of order with their new system.
I did not look at the particular switches to see what you had. If the switch support 1g it will only do 1g if it support 10g then it will run 10g. Many times the fiber can run 1g or 10g depending on distance. The only reason I mentioned it was when you install new fiber you are best off planning for 10g because the cost to install fiber tends to be fairly high and using better fiber only increases the cost a little. If you have 1g now and plan to upgrade to 10g you would just have to replace your switches and optics not have new fiber run.
The cost of 10g switches and optics are coming down very quickly but unless you see a need in the couple years 1g will likely more than meet your needs.
