The 730w power supply I have has an 8 pin 12v connector cable for the motherboard. However, the microATX motherboard I bought only has a 4 pin connector. (The 8 pin cable is not a 4+4, does not split). I can plug the left half of the 8 pin cable perfectly into the 4 pin connector with the other 4 pins hanging out. Is it safe to plug it in this way, and will it work? Or do I need some kind of adapter?
