(windows 8) I just installed a new 600w psu and a new gpu r7 260x. My integrated intel gpu still shows and is able to run but my new gpu does not show up in device manager at all. When I go to BIOS the option for my gpu is grey and does not let me select any other option... The fan works for my new gpu. Also, when I start my computer with the new gpu plugged in I get the message "no signal detected" regardless of which gpu it is plugged into. If i take out my gpu, start the computer, then put it back in, the fan and everything still runs but the screen stays on. I am lost, please help, just reinstalled drivers and no luck.

You plugged in the 6pin power cable right?

Also try disabling onboard graphics in the BIOS and see if that has an effect. You could also try resetting defaults in bios.

It could be a faulty GPU.

Yes my 6pin power cable is in.
Also I tried disabling the onboard graphics but the option is grey and I cannot access it...
Are there any negatives that will come of resetting my defaults?

Nope. Unless you overclocked your CPU, then it will default back to the stock settings.

Stock settings still dont allow me to edit my GPU in BIOS, it's just grey and un-selectable.
Also, my new gpu being in at all makes it impossible for me to get any other message on screen other then no signal, my computer starts and my fans turn, cd drive works, but no signal to monitor. Only thing I havent tried is disabling my built in on device manager and being without a gpu.

Try putting it in a different PCI-e slot.

What is the power output of your psu? Try removing all other hardwares like pci cards, dvd-rom all ram sticks but one ram stick should stay. See if display comes now.

Also, I do not think it is the psu... I was running the same system minus the new gpu at 280w, now i have 600. I tried removing dvd and one of my ram sticks and no change.

It isnt a slot problem though, my gpu doesnt even register on the motherboard when its inserted. otherwise it would show up in device manager no?
