Hello everyone, so here's my problem:

I just bought r9 290 tri- OC.
I have this monitor - http://www.benq.us/product/LCD/G2220HD

Somehow, the vga to dvi reduction I used with my GTX 560 Ti is not fitting in the r9.
Did I make some terrible mistake or do I just need some other kind of reduction? Thank you.

I found the problem: Both of your DVI-ports are DVI-D (not compatible with VGA adapters). To solve this, buy a DVI-D cable and use that with your monitor.

The cable should look like the "DVI-D (Dual link)" in this picture:

The link you posted in the original post says that the mointor has one D-sub (VGA) and one DVI-D.

HDMI>VGA won't work without an active converter.

Damn that's really noobish of me.. That being said, will this http://orwww2.benq.com/product/monitor/gl2460/ monitor, with a dvi-d cable of course work?
There is no DVI port on my current monitor (although the official page says it has one).

Yes, it has a DVI-D input. It's also a very good monitor for gaming as it has low latency (2ms).

If your monitor only has a VGA input then you are going to have a problem as I don't think the R9 comes with any analog outputs. Don't they come with only one DVI? If its a DVI-D then it don't support analog/VGA. Double check your monitor as the link shows a DVI input.
