I recently built a computer for a friend of mine and he needs a legitimate OS without paying out the nose for it. I offered to install Windows 7 on his machine for the sake of getting him something to run, but it's my copy and my CD key is already registered to my computer.
If I just install 7 on his computer and skip the CD key step since I know it already won't accept my key as valid, can I still upgrade to 8 relatively easily and at a low price?
