I am attempting to build my first PC. I currently have a home office PC which i am planning to salvage the hard drive(1TB), optical drive and the 8GB of RAM (in two 4gb cards DDR3). The new parts i am buying and hoping to put together are:

I also have a few questions:
Is it fine to just transfer some of my parts and leave the others?
Will my operating system transfer with my hard drive?
Will all the components work together?
As i am planning to use for mid level gaming, is the graphics card good enough? If not, any recommendations?(I am willing to spend around £100-£120 max- i know i am currently looking at a cheaper one).

Thank you to everyone who answers.

Going with a CPU like that, I would get the equivalently-priced R7 250x for Mantle. In games using Mantle (like BF4 and Watch Dogs) you'll see much better performance, as it takes some load off the CPU.

As for the power supply, something like this would be cheaper and better overall quality: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/450w-xfx-pro-core-editio...

Depends on what you classify as 'mid-level' With the 650/250x, you'll be around medium or so at 1080p at decent frame rates.
