Ok so i finished my gaming pc build today and i've been through some rough patches with random freezes. I've looked at other questions regarding this matter but nothing seems to help. I know for a fact it isn't the ram because i've conducted multiple tests on it. Any help would be much appreciated

Overheating is commonly a problem in new builds which can manifest itself as seemingly random freezing. I would check over the mounting for the CPU cooler to ensure it is seated and and hopefully you remembered the heatsink compound.

Hopefully this was helpful and good luck.

How are the GPU temps? Doesn't hurt to check there as well.

Is the computer doing anything else? Random reboots or hard shutdowns?

I'd check all of the hardware top to bottom to ensure all is seated correctly and the cables are locked in place too.

Random shutdowns occur on occasions. The GPU temp is 32degrees idle

Hmm... PSU is a good one, so I doubt it's that. You could try plugging your monitor into onboard graphics and see if it still crashes. That could rule out if it's related to GPU or not.

Did you set your ssd to AHCI mode in bios before installing windows? If not, you could reformat and try installing windows again with AHCI mode on. It's better for SSD's than the normal method, plus a fresh install couldn't hurt trying to fix your crashes.

I assume you also installed all relevant drivers, such as Intel Chipset drivers?

I'll try a fresh install as i have all my drivers up to date.

So far things seem better.. All i did was switch the sata ports of my hard drive and dvd and things seem to be a lot smoother and responsive now. The only reason why i think this is strange is because the Sata port 1 is suppose to be better than the rest of the ports but as i said, the hard drive had issues in that port and it seems much better in a 'worse' port.
