I am currently running a 670 and thinking of sli but I found a good deal 550 for 2 r9 290. Just wondering would the Vision 3d work with the r9? I am using Asus VG236H

You are wright that it won't work, but AMD's version is called HD3D, which is an open standard. They really don't give much support to it, however, and you'll need to use Tridef software for it to work. Unfortunately, it is a huge CPU hog from my experience.

I'd recommend you stick with Nvidia if 3d Vision is your thing.

[strike]"3D vision" will not work with the 290's. AMD has their own implementation called "Eyefinity"
[/strike]
EDIT: or are we talking about Stereoscopic 3D?

EDIT 2: AMDs 3D solution is called "HD3D" and it should work the same as Nvidias.

Had it stuck in my head this was about NVSurround.
