Your Favorite Manufacturers?

Hello,

I'm building a PC for the first time, and I was wondering if you guys could give me any insight for what manufacturers you prefer.

What manufactures do you prefer for the following, and why do you prefer them over another?

1.) Computer Case
2.) Graphics Card
3.) Motherboard
4.) SSD
5.) Memory (RAM)
6.) Power Supply Unit

I appreciate all feedback.

It might be easier to state a budget, so others can post builds and talk about specific models of hardware.

A budget would be helpful. Most is warranty, reliability, track record, ease of rma, customer support, quality, and aesthetics.

1.) whatever the flavor of the day is........... it's about utility vs looks for me.
2.)vision tech/sapphire/mostly...... many others have slipped from favor.... evga/xfx being two of those. asus I would buy if I couldn't find something else. depends on my train of thought during shopping process.
3.) asrock/gigabyte/asus once in a while/........ don't buy high end boards anymore. not worth it. money is always better spent elsewhere.
4.0 seagate/plextor/neutrons/......... for storage drives those 32gig boot assist drives that I wipe the software from.
5.0 gskill..very reliable.../used to be corsair........ again, I find the "value" ram to be top notch. don't buy fancy heat sink, biilboard-ish look at me ram. not worth the extra dollars. never really was. heat sinks on them don't really do much/take up valuable space and with the low voltages not really something that's needed.
6.) varies a lot. manufacturers have good runs and then they seem to turn to crap. finding suppliers to cheapen the costs makes good ones go bad..........

what do i win?

give budget. 30 people will build 30 different machines.

1.) Computer Case / i dont have a preference, mostly with the most fancy and more space for fans.
2.) Graphics Card/ nvidia - Asus, amd - sapphire, reason i believe the are top in quality.
3.) Motherboard / Asus cos i love the Sabertooth models!
4.) SSD/ maybe samsung but i dont really have a preference.
5.) Memory (RAM) / G.Skill, is what i use last years and i am satisfy from the quality
6.) Power Supply Unit/ Seasonic TOP in quality

1. I have no idea
2. What I own: sapphire, MSI and EVGA. Asus is a good solid brand and they make cards from both AMD and nVidia so it makes the selection process easier.
3. ASrock, Gigabyte and Asus (Copied from other since I tend to buy clearance prebuilt machines at around $100 to $200 with everything in it already)
4. What I own: Seagate, Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives. I don't own any SSDs yet since I am waiting for the 240 GB models to drop further in price
5. What I own: Crucial Ballistix Sport, PNY Optima and Samsung OEM RAM however they are all without the giant heatsinks.
6. What I own: XFX and Corsair. The XFX is made by Seasonic but I don't own any Seasonic brand PSU. Look here before buying: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

Guess I will bookmark this since I only kind of know the brands, but at a moment's notice I can't type up a list like you did.

Probably post a a budget and ask them to stick to those brands and you will still get plenty of builds from people
