Hello, Just a quick question to the up coming watch dogs title reccomending an i7 for ultra settings, i have the i5 3570k oc to 4.2 at the moment, but I feel that will not be enough. Is it a reccomended move to upgrade to the newer i7 chip

Many Thanks.

Just wait until Watch Dogs comes out so you can try it out on your current PC. The 3570K is still an excellent CPU and really probably isn't worth the $500 you will spend on a new CPU, cooler, motherboard, etc. to get a newer i7.

I would just live with slightly lower quality until your build is another year old at least, and then you can build something awesome then that will own the games then. I know it's hard (I wish I could re-build my month-old computer, haha) but enjoy...
Watch Dogs actually recommends the 6 core Intel i7 3930k for ultra and the 4770k for regular recommended specs (non ultra)

This feels like overkill. I highly doubt that you need to upgrade your CPU. Though I cannot guarantee anything, the 3930k seem too ridiculous.

What I would do, is wait 10 days, and see the benchmarks. Only the benchmarks will really be able to answer you question. If you already are going to buy it on day one, see how it does in your machine, then consider whether or not you want to upgrade.

Hope that was helpful... or somewhat inspirational.

As above, I'd wait for benchmarks.

The devs have said that they initially overstated the CPU requirements.

In any case if you do want to upgrade, going to a 4770K would be nonsensical. A 3770K is only around 5% slower than a 4770K. Just grab a 3770K if you do want to upgrade, getting a new motherboard to go with haswell would be a waste of cash.
