This is a build designed around gaming. I know the i7 seems like overkill but would really like to have it in the long run. Tell me what you think. Total cost including shipping is 1,236.79. Would really not like to go over that number. Will not be overclocking.

i7 is overkill.
If you are getting a locked cpu, you should have taken a H97/87 motherboard as the main feature of z97 is overclocking.
You could try to fit an SSD. It will make your pc boot faster, make the oS feel more snappy and shorter loading times for games installed on the SSD
