Save Data In Roller Coaster Tycoon

I started playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 not too long ago and I have already noticed a problem. Apparently, when ever I try to open a saved game, an error occurs. I am using the disk that came in a 3-in-1 bundle including the first 3 Roller Coaster Tycoons and I play the game on a Windows 7 computer hardware. I need to know why this error occurs.

If I can remember, the disk changes your computer (not permanently) to the software that the game was released on. All of the Roller Coaster Tycoons that came in the bundle make these temporary changes to the computer in order to load it up and play it.
