So when I originally built my computer I built it with one sapphire hd7790 1gb card. And I had the intent to upgrade it to two way crossfire in the future. So I got the new card yesterday and was attempting to set it up. I saw somewhere that it was a good idea to uninstall previous drivers then re install them after the second card was hooked up. I needed to do that anyway since I was running old drivers. So after hooking them both up and installing the drivers, the first thing I do is to run some furmark and msi kombustor tests to see if it was at all stable. And they both run fine and the scaling seemed great over my single card. But I can not load up battlefield at all without the display driver crashing and being unable to recover and forcing me to use the reset button on my tower to restart the computer. Also I was playing this game archeblade and it seemed to run great until lots of stuff started going on and the fps just seemed to degrade the more I played it. I am unsure of the cause, the are both the exact same card. Sapphire dual-x oc HD7790 with 1gb of GDDR5.

Things I have tried: using an older set of drivers, switching the cards around in their slots, using different cables off the power supply.

I am wondering if maybe like the bios needs an update perhaps...or could it possibly be the crossfire bridge...I am really at a loss here :/

My system specs are:
CPU: FX6300
Mobo: Asrock 970 extreme 3 (crossfire ready)
RAM: 8gb Crucial Ballistix Sport memory 1600
Power Supply: Cooler Master GX750 (750 watt non modular 80plus bronze)
GPU: HD7790 1gb oc edition 1075mhz core clock
Driver: Catalyst 14.4

I am running into a similar issue. I recently picked up 7790's from ASUS and with the hard bridge installed, i get BSOD when I try to load games. I removed the hard bridge, and the driver still shows that it's in Crossfire, and the games act like it's in crossfire as well. Is it possible that crossfire is still working without the hard bride? The games I play, BF4, WarGames Red Dragon and Airland Battle all seem to pickup that my graphics performance is much better with dual cards. Just when I plug in the hard bridge i get the error message. I am stumped. Anyone have any ideas?
