I know it's not a great system for high-end gaming. I think it should be fine. Good upgrade from Core 2 Duo e6550 (2.3GHz)

Motherboard: BIOSTAR H81MHV3

CPU: Intel i3-4150 3.5GHz

Memory: HyperX Fury Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 650 (I already have this)

And I already have a 550W power supply and case that I know will support all of these. I also have a hard drive (and keyboard, mouse, monitor, USB wi-fi, etc) and anything else necessary.

If this won't work, what will be a good system for a low budget? I already have the GTX 650 and I don't want to buy another GPU. But, I am ok with getting an AMD cpu. Should I wait for the next generation of processors?

Well instead of completely rebuilding I could just do an upgrade. My system now is weak. GTX 650, Core 2 Duo @ 2.3 GHz, 2.5 Gb RAM. It's a Dell PC, which tend to be difficult to upgrade. I can't add more RAM, I've tried. Would it be better to get an LGA 775 Motherboard, so I can upgrade RAM, and still use what I have?

Well, all I really want now is a combo of a CPU, board, and memory for the best I can get in the ~250$ range. I know it's low, but on places like newegg they have combo deals and things like that which make it possible. Would an FX-6300 or a 760K be better for the money? I just want a good match with the GTX 650 that will be better than my old core 2.

I've had my eye on this CPU for a while

It will be fine for that resolution. The games you want to play are from man years ago and should max no problem. BF4 should run at medium or so.

You won't get enough selling the 650 to get close to anything better. Just keep it. It will be fine for your resolution.

The i3 will be fine. YEs the one you selected is Haswell (newest).

Hey I finally got everything together. I went with an FX-6300 and 8GB 1600 memory. I have been able to run some intense games at max settings, to my surprise. I played Left 4 Dead 2, Blacklight: Retribution, and minecraft at max settings, 60+ fps. I guess the extra 4GB ram and the faster CPU did the trick. Thanks!
