The pci on the motherboard is PCI Express 2.0 x16
the pci on the graphics card is PCI Express 3.0
What would happen if I place this graphics card in the motherboard?
I don't have much other option for the motherboard because there aren't many motherboards that could support the amd octo core vishera fx-9590(the 220W version).

What are my options and any advice?

Solution
It works perfectly fine.
There's little to no difference in performance or anything else between 3.0 and 2.0.
A 3.0 card works on 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0. Though if used on 1.0 there would be a big performance hit.

They basically mean that they have more potential. (1.0 max 250 MB/s - 2.0 max 500 MB/s - 3.0 max 985 MB/s)
Though 3.0 offers no improvement for now.

There are MBs that support it but they're very expensive and since there is no software for them they perform like 2.0 for now (Or so I understand) but if you have the money you could buy one so you have it ready for when they start to be useful.
