Hello everyone!

I have a problem which i was battling for quite some time now...

About a year ago I was able to play DOTA2 on max with vsync on and would get constant 60 fps no fps drops at anytime, teamfight or not, it would just be constant 60 fps and a very smooth play without vsync my fps would be at around 120+. Then on one of the days after some DOTa update I think, i would get tremendous fps drops, I tried absolutely everything I could think of, I installed and reinstalled drivers, updated bunch of stuff, set videocard to maximum performance etc... So a year later , I decided to give DOTA2 another try, I reinstalled my windows, updated all of my drivers including latest Nvidia driver, yet it's just unplayable, even with vsync off I get around 30 fps and the game stutters horridly it does not go smoothly. Can someone please help me with any tips, my system requirements more than capable of running this game at maxed out settings, however I'm missing something and I don't know what it is, any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure as I do not have a lot of games installed but I think it's an overall decrease in performance in all resource intensive games.

Did you checked if your power settings are set to Maximum Perfomance or Balanced? And make sure that Intel HD drivers are up to date. Oh and clean your cooling system. Give it to repair shop or be careful while cleaning it laptops are great nightmare for cleaning :).

Power Options on Maximum Performance
PC Plugged In
Freshly installed Win7 ultimate sp1 64bit ( Fans are clean )

Everything I could In nvidia control panel I set to nvidia gpu, problem still here..

Maybe you guys could elaborate on where to click in nvidia panel and what to do, here is my screeny.

Also what I found really weird
From NVIDIA Control Panel
3D Settings->Manage 3D Settings
"Global setttings"
There should be Tab
Preferred Graphics Processor

But I do not have that option! It's just blank there!

I have latest Drivers installed for my card, as for device manager on a second screen it shows some gibberish as my main driver, is it the right one? Because second line spot on, numbers of the latest driver :\ I would like to get that Prefered Graphics Processor option however, don't know how. :/

Reinstalling native video drivers did not help, and that thingy never appeared, I'm lost now :(

Update: Downloaded Optimus Tool, I am using my nvidia GPU, even my GPU meter (GPU Temp) shows so, however I still have the problem of low fps and "Preferred Graphics Processor" also nowhere to be found in my panel.

GPU tends to stay at high temperatures while playing the game, sometimes mid 80s, other times it even goes up to 90s. Actually yes I think my gpu right now heats up more than usual.

That's the problem . The GPU downvoltages itself to keep the temperatures as low as possible .
Go to a repairing shop and give'em your pc to repair it , normally they should completely clean the pc and replace some components if they don't work anymore or are burnt due to the heat
Gaming on a laptop isn't ideal

I seriously doubt it's a hardware problem, thanks for your input though.

A little more than a year, the thing is it performs fine doing other tasks, I have a gutt feeling problem relates to my gpu somehow but maybe you are right, maybe I'm just in denial haha...

Don't worry , every laptop's destiny is to start overheating and won't be good for gaming anymore
Right now i'm on my 3 years old laptop and , when i first got it , i was able to play S4League which isn't a demanding game at all at 60+ fps , and now i'm playing at 20+ fps with freezes , and it's horrible .
So i stopped gaming till i get a new PC

Andrei I really worry, there is no reason this laptop should just slow down and not handle game which designed for far slower machines...
