OK so i have a laptop that is very fast for all of my gaming and video editing but it has been painfully slow. it has the stock 1tb wd blue drive in it and the drive is at a speed of about 10 Mbps write and 9mbps write. this to me seems very wrong and can anybody help the drive is maybe 5 months old and in my opinion it should be in the 50's to hundred's. please help because i cannot get a new drive until January and i do lots of performance work and it has really been bugging me and slowing down my rendering and work flow

also as a side note in January im looking at a wd black 2 because its the same size as my current hdd but has a 1tb hdd plus 120gb ssd in one does anybody know how good this is for what i do or any other drives like this with more storage please let me know

also may i state i defraged 5 times did 3 virus checks 3 spyware checks and it all came clean

Hi,

You might want to provide more detailed specifications about what laptop you have and the OS you are using in order for you to get some decent help for the specific issues you have in your system.

ok i am running windows 8.1 with the latest upgrades an nvidia geforce 630m an intel 4th gen i7 stock 2.4ghz quad core over clocked to 3.4ghz 16gb corsair ddr3 1600mhz ram computer has a power draw of 120v a killer nic card and all of this runs with 2 external monitors and my laptop one using usb - dvi a usb hub with a drobo razer anansi razer naga. is that enough information

also i have tried with all of the stock parts i had done major upgrades to this and tried removing all OC on the cpu still way to slow

is there a way i can contact western digital and get their help because they probably know their drives a lot better than we do

also if you didn't get from all of the self upgrades overclocks and stuff i have, i am very good with computers in in grade 12 and its my co - op plus all of my tech classes are in computers and programing its kinda my future "ambition" but i get paid by companies i.e minecraft servers small game developers online, to make their graphics as well so really if there is a hdd error i NEED to know so i can get all of my data secure as soon as possible i cannot afford to loose my data and i don't have backups my drobo is all files and archives as well as 4k video for classes
