Should i swap my core2duo e8400 currently overclocked at 3.4+ghz, with a core2quad q6600 not overclocked at 2.4ghz? it wouldn't cost anything. And if I did, would I be able to play games better? for ex. Planetside 2, league of legends, minecraft

Just like Wolfshadw said, most games don't even take advantage of the Q6600 cores, so the E8400 is definitely your best bet.

Hope I could help!
