So, I recently changed my mother board from a http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/ to a https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A99FX_PRO_R20/ov... and for some reason I now have an issue where I start my computer up initially (after it being shut down for any period of time) and my display won't pick up anything, just a black screen, but the computer is running and doesn't turn off from a single push, have to hold it down... Once I turn it off and then turn it back on again it comes on, display and all, no issues...

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the issue here could be.

Running windows 8.1 64bit pro
Asus M5A99FX Mobo
MSI TF GTX 770 GPU
HDMI to my Asus LCD (don't remember the model)

Should I try to reinstall the bios for my Mobo maybe? I got a new GPU yesterday and still have the same issue.

Did you try reinstalling windows after changing your motherboard?

I didn't, but it did ask me to activate it again. I can try that tomorrow to see if it helps.

While it can be possible to switch a motherboard and keep the same version of windows running it can lead to errors. It is therefore recommended to reinstall windows after switching a motherboard.
