I recently bought a Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive but it seems to have come with a caddy which i dont know much about but seems to not be able to fit into my Sentey CS1-1398 PLUS ATX Mid Tower Case even though according to pcpartpicker.com it says all parts were compatible. Is there a certain way its suppose to go in because it doesnt fit into the bays.

More about : harddrive doesnt fit case caddy

Pics? If anything, if the caddy is attached to the HDD just remove the caddy and it will go into the case.

Hmm, are you trying to use this hard drive for regular use? Because the connector is not the more prevalent SATA - it's SCSI. So, if you bought a more mainstream motherboard, this drive might not work correctly anyway.

You should post a picture of the actual drive because it's hard to imagine what you're talking about. Otherwise, my best advice right now is that the caddy has to be removed.

ThatVietGuy is right, if you don't have a motherboard with a built-in SCSI adapter it won't work unless you buy an add-in Ultra3 SCSI controller. It is ok to remove it from the caddy. Those same screws could be used to mount it in a 3.5" bay in the case. That caddy is probably only useful in a 5.25" bay (like the one a CD/DVD drive would be in).

It looks like a swappable drive that was on a server of some type. The back has SATA data and power connectors on the left and a Molex power adapter on the right side. The label on the drive indicates it is a 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s, 7200 RPM drive. After looking at the picture I can see why it would not fit in a standard drive bay. Unless it is removed from the caddy I don't see how you can use it in the case you have.
