What GPU is best for single mon. 1080p?

Pretty simple. I plan on gaming one monitor 1080p. Should I go with 770? My only fear is that it won't be able to handle new upcoming titles such as Watch Dogs etc. so in that case would I need a 780? Or would 880 be fine for that as well. I do plan on SLI if that matters. Thanks.

The 760 can handle 1080p just fine. A 770 is a sweet spot for the single monitor, 780 will last longer yes, but it depends on how much you want to spend.

Yes the 780 will last longer but could I just get a 770 and SLI in the future if necessary?

Pretty much, for 1080p you only need 2GB cards, if you plan to SLI or plan to upgrade resolution go for the 4GB models.

Alright. Since I plan to SLI in the future should I take precaution now and get a 850w power supply? I plan to SLI within 6-8 months of getting it maybe even later

If you have the intent yes, no reason to have to get two power supplies.

Cool. If I'm going to SLI would I benefit at all from Gold efficiency? Also what brand should I go with?

The gold means it outputs closer to its rated wattage. So the higher rating, the closer to 850 continuous watts you get. (My TR2 has no rating, so it likely wont output 600 let alone 700)
Branding would be Seasonic, XFX, Antec, or high end Corsair(AX)

You can throw almost every todays games @ 1080p with a R9 280X or a GTX 770.

They're both sweet cards.
