Salvaged Macbook Pro memory for a T420?

I'll keep it brief: My MBP from mid 2012 died traumatically last night and I'm going to get a Thinkpad T420 to replace it. Can I salvage the ram from the MBP for use in the T420?

The ram is Hynix 2Rx8 PC3 12800s (do you need the latencies and such too?). I'm not sure if it's compatible with the motherboard yet because I haven't ordered it yet. edit: 1600mhz, though Lenovo recommends using 1333mhz. I assume it can underclocked in the bios if need be, no?
