I'm building a new computer (intended primarily for gaming, but I also need it for basic stuff like Excel/Word). I don't intend to overclock, but I do want a computer that can run games like Elder Scrolls Online or Wildstar very smoothly and on decent (high, but not necessarily ultra high) settings. I plan to install Windows 8 on it after putting it together. The only things I haven't picked out are the keyboard and mouse; I plan on using a 32" LCD tv for a monitor. I have been doing some research and here's what I have come up with:

What I'm most concerned about at the moment is getting the right motherboard, and ensuring that all of the components will work together. I'm fairly noob when it comes to computer hardware, and I don't want to end up with the wrong components here. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Wow, did you just pick out a bunch of parts and throw them together in a list like that? None of those parts are compatible with each other. The motherboard will not fit into that case; the CPU won't plug into that motherboard. An optical drive... who uses those anymore. The radeon r9 290 is about the worst GPU you could get for your PC. The HDD has about as much memory as the thumb drive I carry with me to work. 8 GB of ram is usually listed as the minimum amount you need for any game that has come out in the past 10 years, and that power supply... 600 watts? Really are you trying to ruin the whole PC? You would need at least 950 watts for what you need.

Please do some more research and then come back in about a year with a more presentable list of parts.

@unewb

"Please do more research and then come back in about a year with a more presentable list of parts" YOU should do some more research and then come back in about a year with a more presentable list of criticism.

Sry man, I'm always very angry at these kind of things.
