I bought a new laptop (HP Pavilion 15-d051sa, Intel Pentium Processor N3510 2GHZ, 2MB cache, 8GB Ram, 1TB HDD 5400 rpm) and have Windows 8.1.

Twice now in the 2 days I've owned it, when I have been playing a video through VLC on full screen, the screen has frozen and a 5-10 second sound loop repeats itself. I can press the windows button and the start screen shows up, but I can't click anything. Same with CTRL+ALT+delete: the options come up, but I can't press anything.

Can anyone identify what is causing this please?

What are the temperature when at idle and playing a video. Use HWmonitor to look at the cpu. I think it might be overheating.

I downloaded HWmonitor. There's multiple temperature numbers, but none under the label of CPU. There's a TSZ0 section under the header 'Hewlett-Packard 2190', and a Core 0/1/2/3/GT under Intel Silvermont, and an Air Flow section. Which number should I post?
