Hi,

I have just purchased a new M550 SSD and I wanted to use it to replace my HDD on my notebook. I installed the SSD and boot up my notebook and I could see the SSD in my BIOS. I then boot into windows using the recovery media stored on my USB stick and delete all files in the new SSD.

During the deleting process, I realized that I will recover the windows and the SSD will be formatted anyway so I pressed the cancel button. The delete process was halted and the notebook shut down after that. I then turned it on again to start the recovery process but I received "Instruction at referenced memory could not be read" error message. I then went into BIOS and I found that the SSD could not be detected anymore.

I have put the SSD into an external enclosure and connect to my other computer but it could not be detected as well.

Could you guys please give some advise on it?

Thanks,
Noct

Put it in another pc and see if it shows up in bios - it should. Then re-format it/install Windows.

Not recognised in other PC either and can't see it so cannot reformat it.
