Is there anyway to fix a Graphics Card that has been peed on by a <mod edit> rat? my card is a 750 Ti. my Case is ALWAYS closed and I don't know how the <mod edit> rat got inside of my case..... I already sent my card to the store where I bought it and they said they will try if they can fix it and talk with the manufacturer if the warranty is void or not, they told me that I'll wait 2-3weeks.

Solution
agreed. if you see no signs then it probably wasnt the case.

i'd ship the card out for RMA to palit. it might cost you shipping out there but if its a definite warranty fix shipping back should be free (although some companies are gracious enough to provide shiping both ways... but dont expect it). in the end they have the final say over whether it was covered.

good luck.

I don't really know how... I got a generic case that has almost no big holes only small ones for ventilation and as I can clearly see it can't fit through it.. do you think that the store where I bought it can still fix it?

Well....a rat is rather large. Looking at all the PC's here in my house, there is no way a rat, or even a mouse, could get inside a properly closed case.

How do you know it was a rat? Was he still in there?
And how do you know it was rat pee that killed the GPU?

it has been known that mice (not rats) have been known to get inside computer cases. in fact thats how the music artist deadmau5 (dead-mouse) got his name. however, most computer cases do not have any open holes for this to happen and there would be some pretty obvious signs.

if your case has mouse droppings in it (or a dead mouse) then i would say that perhaps it was a mouse which destroyed your computer. otherwise, perhaps it was something else?

regardless... liquid damage of any sort isnt covered by most warranties.

@ssddx so you mean my card's warranty has been void? anyways I'm not 100% sure that its a rat BUT the technician in the store where I bought it told me that IT IS a mice urine. when my card is installed in my pc the pc won't boot but I got it up running until the windows log-on screen but then it restarted. right now I'm using Intel's HD 2500 which suck. (can't even play BF3 at low settings on a 1080x720 reso.)

OK....so if we discount the rat, and concentrate on 'mouse'...

How did the tech determine it was mouse pee? Were there mouse droppings inside, or other signs of forced entry (chew marks)?
Mice, being small, pee very, very tiny amounts. 0.5-1ml per day. http://web.jhu.edu/animalcare/procedures/mouse.html
As they probably pee multiple times during the day, each time it would be but a fraction of that.

Absent other visual clues, I think the tech is pulling your leg.

Warranty generally only covers manufacturer defects...not if you (or the presumed mouse) spill a liquid on it.

normally warranties would not cover such things as mouse pee. just like they wouldnt cover your computer if you spilled soda down in it. this is normally classified as abuse (whether beyond your control or not)

---

i'm not going to say if it was or if it wasnt mouse pee as i cant be sure without seeing it however normally there would be other clues like a hole chewed in your case or mouse droppings if a mouse was living in there.

if there are no other clues than chances are it wasnt mouse urine and the tech is just pulling your leg so they dont have to replace the card for you.

---

as for which is applicable to you... honestly i cant say without knowing all the facts. it could be either:

-if its mouse pee... you're probably screwed
-if its not mouse pee... it might be covered but it seems like the place you bought it from doesnt want to give you a new card.

at least it was only a 750ti. you might be able to find one for cheap in our deals section or on ebay if you need to replace it. hopefully though its not mouse pee and you can RMA it instead.

personally i'd just RMA it to the manufacturer and cut out the idiots at the store.

ok, so I checked my pc there are NO signs of anything related to a mouse, no chews, no nothing. I never really drink so close to my pc I usually drink on my left side (my pc is at my right side) and my PC is elevated to about 10 inches above the ground. it never rained so hard here. the top case of my pc has no holes even the tiniest hole it doesn't have (which suck right?) I'll try to contact Palit. (my card is a PALiT 750 Ti Storm X Dual)
