Dedicated Graphics Card

Hi, very new hear and just wanting to get professional advice for this question before I make regrettable mistakes.

I have recently bought a pc, amd a8-6600k apu, 8gb RAM, Windows 8.1 also with Integrated AMD Radeon HD8570D GPU. I was wondering if I could install a dedicated graphics card and how would I go about it. It does seem like a stupid question sorry, but I would really love some help. Thanks.

Oh and also a recommendation on a card that would suit a medium gamer, like skyrim would have to be the heaviest. Thanks a lot.

what is your monitor resolution and what is your budget.

I've researched it and the graphics card isn't great, so I want to change that, and how to install the card once I get it.

The problems are basically poor performance for heavier/new games.

And well, It's strict but I can afford.

i started running a 5800k at 1280.1024 without issues. I didn't have time to experiment with a lot of games or a different resolution or a lot of different settings but FarCry2 at all high settings ran smooth as butter.

what kind of money can you put into your upgrade?

installation is straight froward. install in the pci-e slot and screw it in place at the back of the case. when you boot widows will find it. when it does you can either go to windows update and see if it finds drivers for you or you can go to the card manufacturers site and get the most current drivers.

go right for a 750ti. it's quite a card. there are alternatives that require more power but don't know what your PS is. but price for performance......

,one of these?......... there are others to look at on the site......... get one with 2gigs of vram NOT a card with 1gig.

Thank you, I opened it up and looked at my PSU, I couldn't find the Watt label at all.... I'm amusing 400 or something, probably way off.

just want to make sure you have a "standard" size case. don't want to suggest a card, have you buy it, and then find out you needed a low profile card when you open the package.
