I currently have a anthlon IIx2 4450e 2.80 Ghz and i want to upgrade,I have two choices AMD FX-6300 and Phenom IIx6 1090T black edition.I am getting both at same price but phenom has higher power consumption i.e 125w whereas FX 6300 only 95w.Although phenom has advantage that it has a better stock cooler than FX-6300's cheap cooler.
Which one should I buy?

Solution
it's a little better in some areas, and it can overclock higher anyway. The 6300 will serve you fine. Pair it with a good gpu and you can game fine, and it's good for mulitasking

I really like the Phenom x6 and think it would be cool to have one nowadays, their prices have shot up to i5 levels though. If power consumption is a concern just get the fx6300 though, it should match the Phenom x6 in most stuff and can clock higher so it could beat it. The fan really isn't a concern, just get the Hyper 212 Evo

I have Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 and it supports FX-6300 but if i buy phenom I will need a board which can support upto 125w CPU and my current board does'nt so I would go for ASUS,I am also running a GTS 450 2 gb,so I will have to buy new PSU in both cases.

I have both. The 6300 is better. The 6300 will overclock really well. The 1090T if you can get it to 4.0 GHz stable you are doing really well. The 6300 attaining a 4.5 GHz is a common overclock. You should get a better board if you buy either one. Some 970 or 990 board. Make sure it has at least 8+2 phase power and beefy heatsinks on the chipsets and mosfets.

Actually,I really never overclocked and I am not even interested in overclocking.

Then you are throwing away a lot of unused potential of any cpu you buy. They are manufactured to have headroom built in. A cpu that is 3.5 GHz base clock just doesn't stop working at 3.5 GHz. Most roads only allow you to drive at 65 mph in the states but cars are certainly built with headroom to go much faster than that. Many cpu's today can be overclocked a full GHz. Even if you aren't interested in overclocking the motherboard is the foundation of any good build. You buy a six or eight core cpu and you cheap out on a motherboard with weak power phases and you will get bad results.
