Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I plugged my ClickFree external hard drive into my computer today and it started to make a weird beeping noise. Now it will not show up on my computer i have tried going into disk management and seeing if it's their but it isn't. I was going to see if it was something to do with the USB connecter does any one else have any other advice? I don't want to loose everything i have put on it :(

It could be simply not enough power available from the USB port so buy a mains powered USB hub & plug the drive in to that.

Never rely on just a single drive for your data as hard drives can fail at any time (especially external ones).
You need at least two drives with the same data on each.

The cost of a second hard drive is peanuts compared to the cost of professional data recovery, and even they may not be able to recover all of it. Words fail me when I learn of yet another example where a person hasn't bothered to keep backups, yet they post comments such as "Help, I can't afford to lose my files!".

Sorry to labour on that point, but I learned the hard way and lost 3 years of family photos. I don't want you to suffer...
