Hello,

I used to be able to overclock my monitor to 72hz with my old Radeon HD 7870XT, but with my new GTX 780 TI when I go above 68hz, this happens: Weird purple flickering outlines.
Is this due to the Single Link DVI cable I'm using, and would getting a Dual Link DVI cable solve this?
Thanks for reading.

Check your refresh rate in nVidia control panel.

Edit: I think it's software issue and I think dual link cable (never heard about single link cable) won't help

Refresh rate in control panel are set the way they should be. Same result from there. Any other ideas?

Then use your monitor at stock (60Hz) rate I think 78Hz is not as good as 120/144Hz. I would keep default refresh rate because there is not so big difference :D

Well I can run it at 68hz. And can definitely tell the difference between 60hz and 68hz. And my monitor cannot run 120hz. :p

I fixed it!!!!! Due to a weird crash bug on CSGO, I tried everything to fix it, including wiping all of my graphics drivers + Geforce Experience. Now after having reinstalled everything and CSGO seems to be working fine now, I tried running at higher refresh rate just of curiosity, to be shocked to see all of the weird lines are gone!!! I'm really happy I fixed it. It was probably some kind of drivers overlapping and creating an error.
