Hi everybody..

I need a mid range gaming rig

After a lot of research i came to the following two combinations....

1. (Processor: AMD FX-Series FX 6300 6-core processor
Motherboard: ASRock 960GC-GS FX
Graphics card: MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OC 2 GB GDDR5
RAM: Gskill F3-10666CL7D-8GBRL RAM)

2. (Processor: AMD FX-Series FX 8320 8-core processor
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme 3
Graphics card: Sapphire VAPOR-X R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 OC
RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB DDR3 RAM)

Can you please tell whether both the combinations are compatible i.e, Mobo, CPU and GPU?

Also, the second combination is approx 150$ cheaper.....will there be much difference while playing high end games like TOMB RAIDER, WATCH DOGS, CRYSIS 3, BIOSHOCK INFINITE etc?

Your #2 is considerably faster, I would go with that. And yes there will be a noticeable difference. The 270x is somewhat of a mid-range GPU, and the 8320 is a mid-high range CPU.

Personally I would recommend your #2 as the slowest option for a new build, because it will allow you to upgrade the GPU in the future and not be horribly bottlenecked by your CPU. The 6300 CPU is "entry" level currently, and will be too slow in a couple years.
