I've built my own rigs for a decade now. I'm building this one for my nephew. Ive tried everything. I know I must use the DDR3 slots on the MB. This is a new build. Everything is new. I know its an older board but its new. My processor is a Dual Core 2.4G 775. If I pop in 4 gig stick of DDR2, everything works fine. If I put in 8g stick of the DDR3 linked below, in the DDR3 slot, 3 beeps on boot and no Display. Bios and all drivers are current. Is the 8g stick my issue? Should it be 4g? Thanks for any input.

The motherboard Im using is here:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P45ts/

The Ram that won't boot is here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311

That board only supports 4GB max ddr3 in two slots. You can only run one or the other.

from Asrock:

- Dual Channel DDR3/DDR2 memory technology*
- 2 x DDR3 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR3 1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity: 8GB**
- 4 x DDR2 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR2 1066/800/667 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity: 16GB**

*DDR3 and DDR2 are supported separately.

Forgot to mention, Bios are loaded Default. Tons of Timimng options in bios, but I'm not familiar with RAM and BIOS settings. Voltage, Timing, etc...are all in AUTO. Wasn't sure if I should tweak any of these numbers....???

Daggum!! Thats what I was afraid of, but figured I'd consult the community. You guys correct me if Im wrong, but the link I attached for the RAM, does it not say 8 gigs....2 x 4 gig sticks. Thats what I ordered but I have in my possession 2 x 8gig sticks......?
