Disonnect Two Side Fans?

Hi, I finally installed the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and it is doing extremely well!
With the BOINC software running World Community Grid doing 8 tasks, the temp changes are pretty dramatic in my opinion.
8 W.C.G. tasks running at the same time produces temps in MSI's Command Center software between 38c and 55c (it varies every second).

The above was from about two weeks ago.
My question involves the same thing above except that I have now reconnected my two side 120mm fans as intake (they were not plugged-in before, just never got around to it even though they were connected to the side panel window).

With these two side-panel fans connected and running as intakes, the temps are now a pretty steady 52c- 55c (with two side intake fans) as opposed to the varying 38c-55c (without two side fans) when running BONIC.

I'm guessing that I should just disconnect the two side fans. Any opinions?

Yeah, I was just having them there for aesthetics because they are Corsair Purple led fans and hooked up to a NZXT Sentry 2 fan controller and running at the lowest that the controller lets me.

So you think that I should disconnect them based on what numbers I gave before and after?

I agree. I have two 140mm fans on the side of my case, and they do absolutely nothing except light up green and look cool.

The only reason I can think you would ever want side fans is if you are water-cooling the CPU. If you don't have a heatsink with a fan blowing on the motherboard's voltage regulators, side fans may help out with that.

Okay, I just realized something. The reason the temps seemed to increase or stay steady at the 55c higher number instead of the wider varying temps mentioned above, is because I had changed BONIC to use 100% instead of the 50% default. That's why today I ended up with 21800 points and 4 days of computing time when my usual point total for a day is between 6000-12000. I changed it back to 50% and the temps are again between 38c and 54, but mostly in the 40(s).
