Hi, Im trying to upgrade parts in my PC, I want to upgrade my CPU and my GPU because the ones I have now are very old. I want to put a Intel i7-4770k processor and a msi Radeon R9 270 graphics card in my PC. My question is, will my motherboard support these things or would i have to buy a new one? and If it does support it then will i have to update my motherboard Drivers? Also if any one could give me some cheap motherboard suggestions for this build I would Appreciate it thanks!

Current GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5850
Current CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Current Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV Formula.

That CPU is already very powerful for gaming. As you probably already know, to run games at a decent settings with a decent FPS you need a good GPU not CPU. So instead of buying a new CPU use the extra money to buy a better GPU like the GTX 760 or the R9 280

Nope, no BIOS update needed.
