My laptop has two graphics cards, High-performance NVIDIA processor and Integrated Graphics. I want to use the High performance NVIDIA processor but when I open the NVIDIA control panel and change it manually, it does not work. I know this because when I play the games, the frame rate is so low that it almost makes the games unplayable, which should not be happening if I'm using the correct graphics card.

Low FPS? Which Nvidia card is that? What settings are you playing the game at (high?medium?low?)? Most laptops these days has "Auto Graphics Switching", which will switch between the integrated graphics in the CPU and the graphics chip in the graphics card when necessary, so the user don't have to do it manually.

Fore some reason my laptop was not automatically switching between graphics cards, which is why I tried to switch it manually in he NVIDIA control panel, but that didn't work.

I believe they call it optimus. My msi laptop has that currently. What I have done after a bit of reading is to go into the options and set the power options so that the nvidia card is maximum quality and the intel integrated is performance. That seemed to clear up issues for myself. The Other option you can do is tell it specifically which game when run to use which video card. I know its in my options in nvidia control panel at least.

When you're playing games, try open "Task Manager" and see how many % is your CPU usage, if it's somewhere above 50% then the game is not using the graphics chip in the GPU. If that happens, try downloading the latest drivers from Nvidia.
