Is it normal that I drop to 30-35 fps when playing planetside 2?

I have all the setting on low, running 1280x720. Mainly happens when there is a lot of people around.

Pc Specs:
8g Ram 1333
gtx 750 1gb superclocked
fx-6300
psu: crappy one that came with it. says 500w, Doesn't even have a pci connector.

Also, I even went into the global settings, and turned everything down. When nothing is happening i get around 100 fps. I just don't think that much of a drop normal.

It might be that the CPU or GPU are throttling due to overheating, just a quick guess.

[strike]PlanetSide 2 is a demanding game, and you said that you don't have a PCI Connector to connect it to your GPU, that means that the GPU isn't running at full power, right?[/strike]

Update: Sorry, didn't know that the GTX 750 doesn't have a PCI Connector :ange: But maybe the OC version has one?

yeah thats typical for the game. it prefers a quad core over the tri module cpu.
it will still be very playable but lock your fps to 60 and you shouldnt have the fps drop issue as much.
you dont need more than 60 fps anyways as the game uses a max of 60 packets.
which means it will calculate movement for every frame when you lock it at 60 instead of every 1.3 frames +/- if you leave your fps variable.
