Hi.

Just an hour ago my computer started artifacting like crazy while i was watching a stream on twitch. Earlier I was playing bf3 on max and everything was fine. This is a 4 day old computer so I do not know what the problem could be. (Windows 8.1)

Temperature is definitely not a problem (gpu was at 45 when the artifacts started). So could it be a driver issue or a faulty component? Not sure of my exact gpu driver version but I will check it tomorrow.

Intel core i7 4820K
16gb ram kingston hyperx
radeon R9 290x
Corsair RM1000
Mobo is MSI X79A-GD45 Plus.

any help is appreciated.

No, I did not overclock any components. Also, I don't think updating flash will work because the artifacts happen just after POST. I only have a minute to use the computer before the artifacts get way too crazy and eventually crash my computer. No bsod or error message, just a black screen.

I've restarted my computer a few times just to do a few tests, and this time, the artifacts were not appearing for about 5 minutes, but now are appearing regularly but not as violently as before, although still very noticable (horizontal red, cyan lines down the middle about 1 inch in length) GPU-Z reading: http://imgur.com/BFPm7bs
They also seem to stop for a while as well, before gradually becoming more visible.
