Hello everyone.
I'm building a new pc soon and I'm still undecided on the Graphic Card I should get.
My two choices were the Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce OC and the Asus GTX780 OC.
I was leaning towards the Asus GTX780, even if priced a little higher.
But now the SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 290 OC came out, and I'm having second thought between this and the ASUS GTX780 OC, since I've read the overclocking potential of the SAPPHIRE board is much bigger than the ASUS one.

Which one would you advise me?

They are priced at exactly the same, and I will be playing at 1080p.
I won't do XFIRE or SLI in the future. Had too many problems with two graphic card setups in the past.
The Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce OC is still a viable choice I guess because of it's cheaper price range, although I won't mind spending those extra 80$ for a performance boost and having a card that will perform well for a longer time.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to Toms hardware!

Sorry for no reply;

I am always keen when Nvidia vs AMD arises, and I seriously opt going for the R9 290 4GB, a better choice for the upcoming future.

With the extra Vram, wider memory bus, the R9 290 has a better chance of maxing out games for longer, and mantle are projected to have more drivers released in upcoming games, making them a solid choice right now.

The Sapphire R9 290 is a great choice, though I would opt you look at the Tr-X cooler, performs surprisingly better.
