Hi everyone,
I was just curious, but are the Phenom CPUs from AMD still being used? I ask because I used the Phenom II x4 955 BE for my first build back in 2010 before I upgraded to the FX 6300 earlier this year. I still have it laying around and was thinking of selling it or giving it away but I didn't know if there were still enthusiasts out there that still wanted it. I really don't like being wasteful, and especially on the topic of PC parts since they're so expensive. What should I do with my ole' 955? Any ideas would be much appreciated!

If you are not interested in the $$, I would make a posting on craigslist offering it for free to anyone who can prove they can use it (Rather than some re-seller who is just looking for free parts). I often do this with my old computer parts and you would be surprised how often you get some high school kid whose day would be made with a free processor.

DEFINATELY! the 955 BE is a great processor. That's because it's super easy to overclock. I'm running that one right now and I am playing all the Top most graphical intense games with ease! It's overclocked to 3.8ghz with ease with a Hyper 212 evo Air cooler. So yes they still are in the game. And I think i'm late but I would have said i'll take it for my upcoming build.
