I just got a new SSD, and I am wondering how I can install Windows on it without having to delete 440 gigs of files on my computer (it is only a 60 gb ssd, i'm only planning on putting windows, a program or two and one game on it) and then imaging it. So, basically, how can I put windows on it without deleting all of the files on my half-full 1tb drive?

You should be able to activate with the same product key. But to delete Windows off from the Hard Disk, I don't think is possible. You'll need software to delete Windows. I don't know any. To access your personal stuf on you HDD, just go to (DriveLetter)\Users\(YourUsername)\
Then your desktop, downloads and stuff like that will be there.
Do you know how to get in the BIOS? Del key or F1 key of F2 key or F10 should get you in. Just one of those keys. Then navigate to devices, Startup order, then exclude your HDD.

You can't "move" windows. You can reinstall it, but you will most likely end up with dualbooting. I can tell you how to not dual boot but still have full access to the drive. What brand and model board/PC do you have?

My mobo is an ecs a75 f2 a2. If I were to just install windows on the new ssd, would I be able to do it with the product key I currently have? Also, would it be possible to delete windows off of the old HDD?

I guess I will just delete as much as I can and backup music/videos/docs on my 240gb external drive. Once I get it under 60 GB, I'll use acronis to clone the drive over and once I know it works I will format the partition that held everything on my HDD.
