AMD mobo question

Hi, i'm building my first PC and was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between these motherboards:
GA-970A-D3P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128627 vs
GA-970A-UD3P http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128651&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=? With an FX-6300 as my CPU, thanks in advance!

The D3P allows for AM3 compatability as well as AM3+ while the UD3P only allows for AM3+ in terms of socket types for processors.

im not 100% sure but i think the UD3P was to correct VRM throttling issues with the d3p (which made overclocking impossible). I may have it backwards but for a 970 chipset i would go with the ASUS M5A97 R2.0, it only has 4 phases for the CPU but holds an overclock really well. i had my FX 6300 at 4.5Ghz easy with that board + hyper 212 evo.
