Hi all. I have a packard bell computer that re started on it's own, but it will not go past the start up screan , my mouse and keyboard will not work, i took it to the local pc repair shop and it worked ok when they plugged it in used his key board, he told me that if the key board stops working then the computer will not go any furthe than that page. I purchased a new microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse (old ones were cable) got it home plugged it all in, it worked ok then it did the same again. Computer turns on but won't go further than the packard bell start up screen with enter f1 in the botton lefthand corner. I dnt't know a lot about computers

Packard Bell system equals either a bad power supply or motherboard. They use very poor parts in building the systems. It probably worked because the power supply had a chance to rest and cool off a bit when you brought it over to them, same thing when you tried it at home the first time.

If it's in warranty, get it fixed, if not, try a new power supply, although you may be better off getting a different computer if it's more than a few years old. Even a used HP/Dell/Lenovo system will be better than a new Packard Bell.
