USB on asrock board not working

Ok, so i bought a external hdd to put all my crap on till i did a full restore of my pc (wanting to re arrange everything) it was working, put my new gpu in the pc and all of a sudden it would blue screen, so unplugging the hdd makes the pc not blue screen

I am now having trouble getting my hands on a usb driver for the asrock z87 extreme 4 board, running windows 8.1 64bit. i need this driver as having a pc so loaded with absolute crap is annoying me

does anyone know where i can get this driver? (i downloaded one but it was for windows 7)

Try installing the "INF" driver (which is the chipset driver) from here: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme4/?cat=Download&os=Win8a64

It's the second item down in the Driver table.

Installation instructions for dealing with the INF file are included in the download. File is called "readme.txt".

didnt work, tried installing, installed fine and then after a restart still hdd starts making sound, then it turns off

If you aren't getting error message relating to a driver I doubt it's a driver issue. Possibly a faulty drive.
