Greetings!!

I am looking to upgrade this processor and motherboard and require an opinion. I am building this PC to play the latest games (namely titanfall) and live stream on twitch.
I am looking for a processor under 500$, preferably in the 200-400$ range.

The two processors I am giving closest consideration to are

i7-4820K

and the i7-4790

The chips are very similar and it's hard to draw a distinction, and although the 4820K has a 10mb lvl 3 cache as opposed to the 4790's 8mb I have had the sources I've checked recommend the 4790. I plan on streaming high end gaming on twich, and possibly recording and encoding our games so I can't help but think that the extra 2mb cache will help do all of those things at once more efficiently. Aswell there is the socket to consider, as there is currently a larger selection of high performance motherboards for the LGA 1150 socket of the 4790 than the newer LGA 2011 socket of the 4820K.

aswell there are some other chip options which are all comperable sidegrades, could I be missing something in

the i7-4771

the i7-4770K

or the i7-4770

?

Any and all consideration is greatly appreciated.
Thanks allot!

The extra L3 cache of the i7-4820K is by no means the major difference between these and the other processors you have mentioned.
This processor has 40 lanes PCI-E v3.0 compared to 16 for the others.
This processor has 4 memory channels compared to 2 for the others.

For systems more than two graphics cards, there is some benefit in the LGA 2011 platform.
For single or dual card systems it won't make a difference at all.
The total cost for the LGA 2011 platform is much higher and not worth the extra money for most people.
